About The Production Practice

“Creative work needs clearer production practices.”

The Production Practice is a weekly publication about creative leadership, production clarity, and the work of turning ambiguous creative direction into something a team can actually use.

I write for people who lead creative work through other people: producers, creative directors, design leads, studio heads, creative ops leaders, product and UX leaders, and anyone else responsible for helping talented people move through messy work without letting the mess become the operating system.

The focus is not generic leadership advice. There’s enough of that already, and most of it gets too clean too quickly.

This publication is about the practical middle layer of creative work: reviews, milestones, handoffs, scope calls, ownership questions, decision points, and the uncomfortable alignment moments where good teams either start to converge or quietly start pulling in different directions.
